Fashion ComPassion, a UK based socially responsible retail house launched a range of luxury handbags for the first time in Pakistan on October 11th at Ensemble Karachi.
Founded in November 2010, by social entrepreneur Ayesha Mustafa, Fashion ComPassion is a unique online shopping portal that provides a platform to skilled and creative women artisans, by stocking brands that work with them. The company retails products across the world, working in Jordon, Lebanon, U.A.E, India, Bangladesh, Afghanistan, and Cambodia.
Fashion ComPassion is now considered to be one of the most influential retailers in the field of socially conscious fashion with prominent celebrities such as Anne Hathaway, Livia Firth, Lily Cole, Eva Longaria, wearing the collection. The collection is sold at high end international retailers Bloomingdales, S*uce and The British Museum in London. The company has been featured in British Vogue, Vogue.com, The Observer, FT How To Spend It, Marie Claire US, Marie Claire Spain, Grazia Middle East, and various other international publications.
In Karachi, Fashion ComPassion launched three 3 socially responsible brands Nawa, Sougha & Palestyle from the Middle East that work with Palestinian Refugee women, marginalized women in Lebanon & Bedouin women. These limited edition pieces are hand crafted with genuine leather and gold-plated embellishments. The brands will be available for purchase at the launch at Ensemble Karachi from 11th October onwards.

Nawa works with women in under privileged areas such as Haret El Naameh and in the Palestinian refugee camps in Lebanon. Their new ‘Jean clutch’ is inspired by Jean Shrimpton, a British fashion icon in the 1960’s, flaunts a minimalistic look, geometric shape and retro-vintage feel. These box clutches are created with a mixture of Nappa leather and textured water snake leather in vibrant colors.
Sougha, a social enterprise of The Khalifa Fund in Abu Dhabi empowers Emirati women artisans by job creation and skill training. For this collection the women have created bags from biodegradable local leathers, and embellished them with the ancient Talli, Badla and Sheera & Sadou weaves.
Palestyle is a high fashion socially responsible brand that works with Palestinian refugee women in camps in Jordan and Lebanon. These clutches are hand crafted, using Genuine Italian Leathers and gold plated plaques studded with Swarovski crystals in small workshops in Lebanon
