Reality Show Sa Re Ga Ma Pa Challenge 2009 participant, Sara Raza Khan from Lahore was the first girl to ever cross the border to participate in the show. She is now the queen of live concerts and Tribute shows across Pakistan and also busy in worldwide tours. She not only has a sweet voice but she’s also trained and groomed well. Her mother is behind her success story as she supported and accompanied her in shaping up her career.
Sara hits the limelight for opposing to the clothing rules of the singing reality show Sa Re Ga Ma Pa. She has said ‘I am not going to wear any sleeveless outfits or short dresses. And I will never drop the dupatta while doing the show.’ She was praised later by local media for having such a stance in a cross border reality show. She was not only the favorite contestant of judges but guests of the show also admires her.
Born on 9th Novembe in Lahore and got her education from Kinnaird College for Women. She started singing at an early age but, started learning classical singing properly since the past few years from Alhamra Arts Council, under Sir Abdul Rauf.
“chanda tori chandni mein” is her favourite song she likes her music teacher Sir Abdul Rauf, Nayyara Noor and many more singers. Shankar Mahadevan, A.R. Rahman’s music inspires her. Being a Lahori she is addicted to Lahori traditional food.
Almost every morning show in Pakistan has featured her and she was confident and proud to be part of them. Youtube is full of her singing talent show clips and ghazals. Recently she was a part of tribute shows to Mehdi Hassan, Alamgir and Zubaida khanum.
“I still have not done my own album because I want to do more covers for these legends,” says Sara passionately. “These beautiful musical assets we already have my tribute to the legacy they have left us.”
