One of the biggest worries of women of any age is eye wrinkles. The fine lines that we develop around our eyes in our mid to late twenties become an ever growing concern as we age, but there are steps that we can take early on to help allay any onset and appearance of wrinkles. Here’s how you can keep your eyes become ageless, no matter how old you are.
Ageless Eyes in your 20s
No matter if you have fine lines around your eyes in your 20s or not, it’s a good idea to take preventative measures as soon as possible. It is a good idea to begin using a quality eye serum, gel or a cream around your eyes every morning and to put it on under your make up each day. This product can be dabbed onto eye lids, the outer corners, and underneath your eyes after you moisturize.
TIP: Opt for eye serums, gels and moisturizers that are rich in antioxidant products and that also include vitamin A, gotu kola extract, and jojoba oil for some additional moisture.
Ageless Eyes in your 30s
It is usually in our 30s that we really begin to notice some changes in our skin. Undoubtedly there are some “crow’s feet” wrinkles beginning to show around the corners of our eyes, and some finer lines underneath our eyes. When selecting an eye cream or serum, make sure that you choose one that contains the above mentioned ingredients as well as a sunscreen product. Make sure that you choose a cream that at least has an SPF of 8, and choose a stronger SPF such as 30 if you do not wear a concealer or foundation that has SPF in it around your eye area.
TIP: Products with hyaluronic acid are vital as our skin ages. This ingredient will help keep our skin cells hydrated and youthful in appearance.
Ageless Eyes in our 40s
This is the time when we may be noticing a notable thinning of the skin around our eyes. Skin may appear to become paper thin and less firm, which is why wrinkles show far easier than when we were in our 20s and 30s. When selecting eye creams, choose though that are formulated to both tighten and lift the skin.
TIP: The best products for eyes that may have thinner skin around the eye area contain “mica”, a product that contains light diffusers (meaning it will help reflect light and conceal wrinkles naturally).
Some other eye and skin tips to help keep us looking radiant and ageless include:
Never underestimate the power of sunscreen. Sunscreen with an SPF of 15 or higher worn on your face every day, no matter how sunny or how cloudy it may be, will work wonders when it comes to keeping your skin youthful and wrinkle-free.
Always moisturize your face after you wash it to help seal in the moisture and prevent it from drying out.
Astringent products are not necessary unless you have oily skin, or skin with oily patches. When used on normal to dry skin an astringent will only unnecessarily dry out your skin.
