After some hits and many misses on day 1 of Fashion Pakistan week Fall/winter 2012, day 2 of FPW4 proves to be energetic and a breath of fresh air for the fashionholics of Karachi. Fashion Pakistan council is doing a great job by bringing in fresh talent among the designers to showcase during one of the most influential Fashion weeks of Pakistan. All credit to Shamaeel Ansari, Maheen Khan and Deepak Perwani for their support to the designers. Over the four editions of FPW, every time new designers make an impact on fashion scene with their creations.
Day 2 of FPW 4 started as late as day 1 but commendably the show continues without flaws and managed to end around time. The transition from one collection to another is always smooth (should I say so quickly?) at FPW.
So far the most happening day of FPW4 is Day 2 with almost all very artistic and up-to-the-minute collections. The show on Day 2 of FPW4 was opened by everyone’s favorite designer Sanam Chauhdary. She brings in the Japanese street fashion influence to ramp with her Shibori Collection. The collection comprises of dyed fabric with unique cut & styling.
Adnan Pardesy like his name brings a fusion of desi and pardesi fashion by combining the folk art of Rilli with Japanese paper folding technique origami. It was too colorful & lots of pleating was used.
Arsalan & Yasheer’s collection consisting of mostly leather pieces failed to impress. Zaheer Abbas was the highlight of the evening with his creations in white he simply stole the show by mesmerizing audience. Amir Baig presented Black o Block collection with not so impressive designing except playing with lengths. You can never go wrong with Black 🙂
Debenhams Pakistan presented farangi style of street fashion clothes on the ramp. Mostly beach & casual wear clothes by stocking designers.
Baani D , the sisters duo continues to impress us like FPW3 with their creations as a mix of true to our roots desi clothes with creativity in style. Titled Boho-Chic the collection was well executed in terms of materials and cuts. Jute work, rilli & appliqués were the highlight & as always Sania Saeed was the show stopper.
