Indian, Pakistani singers to fuse music at Immies

Cultural camaraderie between India and Pakistan hits a new high on Friday with virtuoso singers from both countries set to enthrall a packed audience at the MTV Immies in Mumbai.

Versatile singer Hariharan teams up with the Karachi-based rock group Strings to keep the crowd tapping while Shaan joins up with the Pakistan band Fuzon. Sukhbir and the music duo Josh will also participate.

Hariharan’s teaming up with Strings and Shaan’s with Fuzon will be the highlights of the Tata Indicom MTV Immies 2004.

Hariharan is well known for his soulful ghazals, bhajans and classical renderings, while Strings created waves with hits like Sar Kiyae, Anjane, Durr and other heady brews of Pakistani pop and Western rock.

Pakistani band Fuzon is well known for its synthesis of eastern classical melodies and western rock, like the smooth Dooriya or the evocative Mora Saiyaa.

Sukhbir, the famed ‘Prince of Bhangra’ with his blend of conventional bhangra pop will be seen in action with the Montreal maestros Josh, duo.
