Is there anything worse than waking up with tired tresses or damaged hair that seems beyond repair? Before you run out to the spa or salon for an expensive hair treatment to try and rejuvenate your locks, try out some of these easy and natural “do it yourself” hair fixes:
For Rejuvenating your Hair
Everyone’s hair can use a bit of a “pick me up” every now and then. To rejuvenate your hair, all you need are a few basic ingredients:
Olive oil
Shampoo
Honey
Plastic bathing cap
Take two tablespoons of olive oil and mix it in with one tablespoon of honey. Place the mixture in a plastic bag (such as a small sandwich bag). Tie up the top of the bag and then place the bag into a cup or mug of hot water. When the mixture is warmed through, take the bag out and massage it into your hair. Cover your head with the plastic bathing cap, and keep the mixture in for 15 minutes. Shampoo your hair was you typically would and towel dry. You will notice that your hair is not only more manageable, but it will be shinier, too!
For Removing Build Up
We all have those days when we just have too much product build up in our hair and need to rinse our hair clean. Rather than go for a damaging detergent, grab some water and vinegar. Take one cup of water and mix it with a ¼ cup of vinegar. Once you have shampooed and conditioned your hair in the bath or shower, use this rinse to completely remove any build up. Don’t worry, your hair won’t be left smelling of vinegar afterwards, either.
For Deep Conditioning
To deep condition your hair, grab an avocado, some olive oil, mayonnaise and a plastic shower cap. Take the avocado and peel and core it. Place it in a bowel, along with ¼ cup of mayonnaise and two tablespoons of the olive oil. Mix up the ingredients until it has a smooth, creamy texture. Apply the mix to your hair and then place the plastic shower cap over your head. Allow the mixture to sit for up to half an hour, and then rinse it off in the shower.
For Extra Shine
Honey is a great ingredient that can be used in several ways for your hair, but perhaps the most useful is by allowing it to enhance the shine and luster of your locks. To create this mixture, all you need is one tablespoon of honey, and to dissolve it in up to 4 cups of water. When the honey has been mixed with the warm water, take the mixture and pour it right over your wet and freshly washed hair. Ring out any excess moisture from your hair with your hands (don’t rinse out the honey mixture) and then lightly towel dry your hair by patting it dry. Your hair will be shinier and more manageable.
