Lal’s Patisserie- A treat for your Sweet Tooth

After the success of three chocolate boutiques in Karachi and Lahore, Lal Majid spreads the luxuriousness chocolate to a flagship multistory Patisserie on Khayaban-e-Shahbaz, next to Espresso.

Lal’s patisserie serves customers premium Italian style gelato with toppings of their choice as well as blended frappes. Aside from the wide range of chocolates normally on display, this patisserie will have a wide selection of home made fresh pastries such as éclairs, chewy cookies, Apple pie, assorted cupcakes, brownies and other decadent delights. I could not write my experience about how the pastries, gelato or cupcakes tasted as I didn’t get any apart from few truffles.

Make Your Own Chocolate Bar concept is the most unique thing about the place. You can choose from milk, white or dark chocolates and combine either of those with numerous toppings to have a customized chocolate bar made just for you in Rs 340.

Madiha Majid who is the daughter of Lal Majid is a magnum brand council member and was present with brand council at the launch ceremony. I don’t get their connection to be honest. Why would a local Ice cream brand be interested in promoting a gelato shop? Just for the sake of Belgian chocolates? Feeling No competition?

Live jazz music was played at the entrance while models circulated with trays of truffles and waiters were serving cupcakes and mini quiches to the (lucky read who were able to get some) guests although the place was packed, almost it felt like stampede.  It would be nice for event managers to let the bloggers & press come at an early time or some other day if the invitees are that much for such a small place. Like the noodle House launch was organized exclusively for bloggers & press letting them enjoy the food, meeting fellow bloggers & observing the ambiance in peace.

The event was attended by socialites and celebrities including Ayyan, Ayesha Omer, Deepak Perwani, Kiran Aman, Mohsin Sayeed, Nabila, Huma Adnan, Misha Lakhani and many more. Ayesha Omer & Ayaan along with Chocolate girls were spotted wearing Maheen Karim while Frieha Altaf was wearing Wardha Saleem’s FPW4 collection piece.
