You will need:
- a mortar & pestle
- alcohol
- essential oils or dried flowers/spices
- vegetable oil
- distilled water
Decide on a scent
If you’re a fan of fresh florals, try adding sandalwood, rose, ylang-ylang, vanilla, and jasmine. For something spicy, mix ginger, bergamot, and cardamom. If you’re stuck, look online for other great combinations.
Floral: Lily, Rose, Jasmine, Lavender
Fresh: Eucalyptus, Mint, Evergreen
Spice: Cinnamon, Cardamom, Ginger, Bergamont
Mix ingredients
If you’ve chosen to use dried or fresh ingredients grind them with a mortar & pestle. For essential oils, prepare a few drops of each for the mixture. Pour 1 oz of alcohol in a dark glass bottle, slowly mixing in a drop of each oil or ingredient. Seal and store for at least 2 days in a dark place. After 2 days, pour mixture with 2 tablespoons of distilled water and a few drops of vegetable oil.
