Not many people are familiar with the concept of face and neck exercises. Most people know about the benefits of exercising for your body, but they ignore the great benefits of keeping the tone of your face and neck muscles. Imperfections like wrinkles, sagging skin or under eye bags can be prevented or improved with some regular and quick workouts for your facial area.
Creams and moisturizers are good for fighting wrinkles, but you are only fighting the problem from the surface. To keep you face young and without sagging, you should work on its muscle tone. There are several parts to work on: From neck to forehead, and also the cheeks, lips and eyes area. If you want to look younger than your age, exercising these muscles will prevent you from getting a double chin and sagging neck (or improve them if you already have them) and also make you look skinnier (people tend to mistake a double or triple chin as an excess weight sign, when it’s usually just a poor muscle tone problem).
Here are some tips that will make your neck and throat look better: A very simple move consists on sitting upright and leaning your head back while looking at the ceiling, then you have to pretend to chew without opening your mouth. You should do this move about 20 times a day, you’ll be amazed at how soon you’ll start to see a general improvement.
Another beneficial and effective workout is lying on your back on your bed or a similar surface. Rest your head over the bed’s border and slowly bring it up towards your chest for around 10 seconds. After this, relax, take a deep breath and put your head back down over the edge. If you do 5 or more repetitions a day, you will start to see an improvement in the definition and tone of your chin very soon.
The first thing you should do if you start noticing lines around your lips is quit smoking if you do. Another thing to avoid is direct exposition to the sun, and always use sunblock. If you stop smoking and do these face and neck exercises, this will improve both your looks and your health.
One of the easiest exercises for your lips is sitting upright with your head looking to the front. Positioning your lips and teeth together, smile as much as you can and hold it for 5 seconds. While your relax, purse your lips to a kissing position and hold it for another 5 seconds. Do this at least 10 times a day.
There are some devices designed specifically for facial exercising, you should be able to find some for less than $30 with a quick online search. Having one of these “machines” might keep you more motivated and disciplined to do your daily face and neck workout. These facial exercisers will help you fight sagging skin, creases below the cheeks or from the nose to your mouth’s sides (commonly called jowl lines) and the always feared double chin.
When doing your daily workouts, don’t forget or neglect your face and neck area! These exercises can be done pretty much everywhere from your office desk to your car, they are easy to stick to and you will start seeing results in only a few weeks. Take a few minutes to find more movements and exercises online, they will help your look and feel better for little to no cost, and the results you’ll get are totally worth the few minutes a day it will take you to do them.
