Unique art work portrays creativity of students

The work of Fatima Jinnah Women University (FJWU) Fine Arts students is on display in an exhibition, which began in the university premises on Friday.

The exhibition is a blend of unique art objects truly portraying the creativity of the students. The exhibition assembled the work of the students as part of their class projects and activities throughout the semester. The show indeed is a fascinating feat both for the students and the faculty, as a large number of the faculty and students visited the display and appreciated the accomplishments of the students.

The chief guest, Professor Dr Samina Amin Qadir, Dean Fine Arts and Social Sciences inaugurated the display here on Friday.

While applauding the efforts of the students, Professor Dr Samina A. Qadir said, “The work of 207 students was displayed using different mediums and in different areas of Fine Arts. The work was good and its presentation was exceptional. The students were enthusiastic about their work and the teachers were pleased at the outcome”, she added.

The exhibition featured more than 250 art objects in the field of Photography, Ceramics, Miniature Paintings, Calligraphy, Sculpture, Textile, Graphic Designing, Print Making, Conceptual Art, Weaving and History of Art and Civilisation. Students of Masters of Fine Arts II, IV and Bachelors of Fine Arts I, III, V, VII displayed their work.

The discipline of photography featured more than 50 striking and eye catching depictions. The students explored different themes with beautiful and unique angles. In the discipline of calligraphy the students of FJWU worked on dynamic pieces of art coloured with Islamic Influence of Art in Calligraphy.

The unique work done in the discipline of Ceramics surrounded the viewer with powerful depictions of iconic figures in a pleasantly surprising contour of mud.

The artwork exhibited in the display has been supervised by Dr Tabassum Shaheen, Chairperson of Fine Arts Department, FJWU, Rohma Noor-e-Haram, Zaira Ahmad, Alam Dad, Aqeel Solangi, Sana Nizami, Tasneem Abbass, Rasheed Butt, Raheela Mustaq, Baroosh Ahsan, Lubna Khatoon, Ambreen Afzal, Javaria, Ehsan Qureshi and Sabeeha Naseer.
