Shaista Wahidi Started a New Morning Show on Geo TV

First of all thanks to Mr. Abu Hamza for pointing out that finally Shaista Wahidi has been spotted on Geo TV hosting a morning show yesterday, which I missed but manged to watch the repeat telecast.

After so many gossips and rumors that something is cooking and Nadia is being replaced & announcements that Sahista will continue hosting GMP (Good morning Pakistan) on ARY etc finally the mystery is resolved. For a refresher let me remind that her brother Sahir Lodhi had hosted the Ramadan special shows for a month on Geo TV earlier this year and now he had also announced that he joined Geo. Family channel now, hmmmm money does wonders.

Seems like tit for tat as Nadia herself moved from ARY to Geo at the time when she was the only one being watched as a morning show host on any satellite channel.

Shaista Wahidi to Continue hosting GMP on ARY

It seems that the things between Dr. Sahista Wahidi and ARY digital are settled down as I witness a ticker of breaking news last night on the channel which states that:

“Good Morning Pakistan with Dr. Shaista in a new style coming soon only on ARY Digital”.

This news was revealed after rumors that there was some tug of war between two media giants over the hosting and ratings of their morning shows. As discussed earlier that Shaista Wahidi will be replacing Nadia Khan on Geo TV morning show.

For a month now, both Geo and ARY were telecasting old episodes of morning shows giving spice to the rumors. While in July Pakistan daily quotes that Shaista Wahidi is leaving her show.

“I don’t want to spend my lifetime, hosting. I should have chosen any other field by now” said Shaista. While asked about the comparison with other morning show, she confessed Nadia Khan to be spontaneous.

Shaista Wahidi will replace Nadia Khan in Geo Morning Show

Actress and Host, Nadia Khan, who was doing a successful Morning Show with Geo Tv has been fired and the reason is still unknown.

Nadia khan left ARY morning show, ‘Breakfast with Nadia’ in 2006 & joined Geo network. She was the most successful morning show host on Geo till now.

According to the sources, many candidates were available for this slot including Sahir Lodhi, Shaista Wahidi and Kiran and George, but it has been confirmed that Shaista Wahidi will be the new host for the morning show on Geo TV.

Shaista Wahidi was earlier busy with her morning Show for ARY network. So it seems like a Tit for tat situation:). Probably the war of two media giants has caused the switch of morning show hosts.

Interestingly Dr. Shahid Masood has moved from Geo TV to ARY too and now is the MD of the channel. Earlier he switched from ARY to Geo. Only time will tell that when this tug of war between channels end.
