German Jazz 2011 festival in Lahore

The city of Lahore is going to jazz up this month with the German Jazz festival to be held on May 3 and 4. Organized by The Annemarie-Schimmel Haus (German Cultural Centre), the event will kickstart at the National College of Arts (NCA).

The festival titled German Jazz 2011 aims to give Lahoris two days of pure jazz from Germany. The first day of the event will be more academic and literary, bringing a photo exhibition on the history of German Jazz. This exhibition has traveled across South Asia, featuring pictures which depict the birth and evolution of jazz music in Germany. Indeed, it will be a picturesque journey into the history of German jazz. While the festival will conclude on May 4, the exhibition will continue till May 15 at Zahoorul Akhlaq Gallery of the National College of Arts.
