Wash your hair
Apply good-smelling shampoo and conditioner that suits your hair well. Apply only a dime’s worth of shampoo, more of conditioner, and massage it into your hair, working through the roots and the ends. Massage your scalp and rinse your hair throughly. When you apply the conditioner, make sure you let it sit in your hair for 3-5 minutes. When you rinse it out, your hair should be clean.
Apply gel
Applying gel before and after your shower will make your hair smooth and soft and good-smelling. Squeeze some of the gel onto your hand and rub it together until it completly covers the palm of your hand. Massage it carefully into your hair. Run the pads of your fingers through your hair so that the gel can get into every strand and lock of your hair.
Dry your hair
Ligtly pat the top of your head with a towel to get your hair nice and dry. Avoid rubbing the towel all over your head. Your hair will get all tangled and snarled. Lightly squeeze your hair to get some of the water out of it. But, be careful. If you squeeze too hard, you can damage your hair.
Brush it out and dry it
Use a hair dryer to dry your hair. As you dry your hair brush it out with a pointy comb. Start by combing it at the top of your head to the little strands at the bottom. As you blow dry your hair, run your fingers through your hair and flip it around to make it smoother and softer.
Style it
Curl or straighten your hair the way you want it. (For more info, see How to curl hair, and How to straighten your hair.) Use hairspray to hold the style. After you apply the hairspray, make sure you comb the spots where you applied it. (If you don’t comb it, eventually your hair will feel dry and icky.) (Also, apply more gel. Same steps apply here as during the shower. See step 2.)
Brush it again
Get all the snarls and knots and tangles out of your hair now. You should be able to run your fingers through your hair easily without running into any snarls and/or knots and/or tangles. If you do, just simply brush it some more. (The better-looking your hair is, the healthier it is, or will be.)
You should have healthy, strong, good-smelling and good-looking hair! You don’t always have to repeat all these steps every time you take a shower, but most of them you should, since they all will make your hair healthier and stronger, so it’s a good idea to take a shower and repeat these steps as often as you can.
